University Library – Vacations at the turn of the year 2024/2025
The University Library of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is on vacation. The Main Library and the Branch Library at the Institute for Education in the Arts will be closed from December 20, 2024 to January 6, 2025.

The Winter Market is back!
The Winter Market Team with the support of ÖH Akbild and the Academy of Fine Arts is organizing the market 13 –15 December this year in the Aula at Schillerplatz.

Kunsthalle Wien Prize 2024: Exhibition by Rawan Almukhtar and Ida Kammerloch
For this year's prize, the jury reviewed over 100 diploma and master's projects from the fine arts and media arts. More than 50 graduates from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University of Applied Arts Vienna each submitted their works. Almukhtar and Kammerloch were selected for a joint solo exhibition at the Kunsthalle Wien, which opens on January 22, 2025.

December 3 is International Day for People with Disabilities. In this context, the Equal Opportunities Team (AfG) at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna has once again closed the entrance at Schillerplatz.

Winners of the BUWOG Art in Architecture Competition announced
A jury of experts selected three winning projects from Atelier Ehrmann:Gruber, Viktoria Morgenstern, Fabian Puttinger and Michael Reindel for the art-in-architecture competition. The competition is a cooperation between BUWOG and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

Ambivalences of Modernity: Conference about Architect and City Planner Roland Rainer
On November 22 and 23, 2024, a conference will take place in cooperation between the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the Architekturzentrum Wien.How did modernist architecture interact with political systems? And how can biographical gaps in architectural archives be explained and filled? An FWF research project investigated both questions using the example of Roland Rainer. The symposium will present the results for discussion. -
Research Day 2024 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna
The annual Research Day took place at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna on November 14, 2024. The conference conveys the range of current research work at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, provides insights into specific projects and their results, and invites collegial discussion. The focus is on presentations of the (intermediate) results of research projects at an advanced stage.
