Elsy Lahner, Curator Albertina Wien
Elsy Lahner is mentor of Željka Aleksić.
Elsy Lahner has been a curator for contemporary art at the Albertina in Vienna since 2011. Her recent projects include an overview exhibition on contemporary drawing, Drawing Now: 2015, Keith Haring: The Alphabet (2018), co-curated with Dieter Buchhart, retrospectives of Florentina Pakosta (2018) and Hermann Nitsch (2019), as well as the exhibition A Passion for Drawing. The Guerlain Collection from the Centre Pompidou (2019). Prior to this, she worked as an independent curator and, from 2007 to 2011, co-founded and directed the exhibition space das weisse haus with Alexandra Grausam.
Among other positions, she served on the advisory board for visual arts of the Austrian Federal Chancellery (BKA) from 2014 to 2016, was a jury member for the Strabag Artaward International from 2015 to 2017, and for Drawing Now Paris. Since 2003, she has been a jury member of the Klocker Foundation. From 2009 to 2010, she was curator in residence at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and was a mentor in the BKA's women’s mentoring program until 2017.
