Helen Weber, * 1994 in Mannheim, studied Fine Arts at Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design and at Marmara Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi İstanbul as well as Transdisciplinary Art at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.

In her research-based work, rural life, “wild” nature, and traditions serve as the stage for right-wing projections of the “authentic” and “primitive”. This stage is explored through multimedia and field research, resulting in video installations, texts, (edible) objects, performances, and participatory actions, all are created in an awareness of a subjective, situated perspective.

Helen Weber was a scholarship holder of The German National Scholarship Foundation, studio fellow at Künstlerhaus Stuttgart, and recipient of the Werner Pokorny Prize 2022. In 2023, she was awarded the state graduate scholarship of Baden-Württemberg. Her often collaborative works have been presented in venues including the Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart, Kunsthalle Wien, Filmwinter Stuttgart, Volkskundemuseum Wien, and Collegium Artisticum Sarajevo. She is a board member of the Kunstverein anorak e.V,Berlin, and part of several collectives, such as the Schwäbischer Online-Albverein (SOAV), with whom she published the publication “nature.exe” in 2021, supported by BBK Berlin.
