Information event for self-employed artists in context of the series Survival Training for Artists

Insurance gaps are a significant issue in the careers of artists. How can you obtain social insurance? When should you get insured, who can opt for voluntary insurance, and, most importantly, what are the costs and coverage of social insurance?

We will explain the basics of mandatory insurance for self-employed artists, covering health, accident, and pension insurance. Additionally, we'll address what to do if you encounter payment difficulties, who can be exempt from deductibles and prescription fees, and how to receive the health bonus.

Note: The SVS is currently processing the 2023 energy cost subsidy for new self-employed individuals and the crediting of health insurance contributions for the self-employed as part of the eco-social tax reform. Eligible individuals will find their credits on their contribution accounts. Eligible visual artists under the old insurance system (with health insurance through the ÖGK) will receive the energy cost subsidy directly into their bank accounts by September 30, 2024, at the latest.

Speakers: Daniel Gerbautz and Daniel Neumayer (SVS – Social Insurance for the Self-Employed). After the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Moderator: Jannik Franzen (visual artist), Co-Moderator (Chat): Daniela Koweindl (IG Bildende Kunst).

The event will be held in German. Questions can also be asked in English.

Registration is not required.

In cooperation with IG Bildende Kunst and the Alumni Association of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
