FWF | International Collaboration – Taiwan
In cooperation with the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), Taiwan, the FWF offers funding for collaborations between researchers in Austria and Taiwan. Bilateral calls in cooperation with NSTC give researchers the opportunity to apply for international Principal Investigator Projects.
Target group
The funding program is aimed at researchers from all disciplines. For details, please see the respective application guidelines.
Funding goals
International Principal Investigator Projects are intended to fund closely integrated projects in which researchers in Austria and Taiwan make substantial scientific contributions, creating added value through international cooperation.
Funding period
up to 48 months
Requirements
For international Principal Investigator Projects with Taiwan, the application requirements of the FWF programs Principal Investigator Projects and Clinical Research apply to FWF applicants.
Information on the current call
The call covers all areas of basic research, including clinical research. The application process, review process, and funding of the respective parts of each project will be carried out separately by the FWF and NSTC according to their applicable guidelines.
Submissions to the FWF: November 4, 2024 to January 22, 2025 (2:00 pm local time Vienna)
Submissions to the NSTC: November 4, 2024 to January 22, 2025 (5:00 pm local time in Taipei)
Approval
Applications are reviewed independently by the FWF and NSTC.
International Principal Investigator Projects are approved only if both organizations recommend funding the respective application based on the review process.
Application information
Proposals are submitted online using the electronic application portal elane.
Parallel applications for the respective parts of each project are submitted separately; the national rules of the FWF and the NSTC apply. Applications must be submitted by the specified deadline.
