Donya Aalipour

Donya Aalipour, * in 1995 in Tehran, is an artist whose practice is rooted in a deep understanding of the social role of art and the artist. She intertwines narratives from both reality and fiction to explore the relationship between figure and anecdote in modern life, as well as the individual's connection to their surroundings. In her work, she addresses themes of human relationships, peace and fear, happiness and misfortune, as well as attachment and detachment. Her creations form coherent narratives, where each theme and element of one piece leads to the next. Aalipour's talent in painting lies in her ability to juxtapose vibrant, saturated fields of color and incorporate powerful, rebellious lines. She draws inspiration from the constant flow of images on social media, visits to museums, works by other artists in galleries, as well as through reading and reflecting on the human psyche.
