DAS EDITH 2025
DAS EDITH is an edition project of the Studio of Art and Picture / Graphics and the printmaking workshops of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
13 students from 3 studios are taking part in this year‘s edition.
Printmaking today means consciously engaging with the long technical development of image reproduction. This knowledge not only opens up a deeper understanding of the production of images, but also of how to deal with the immense challenges posed by the flood of images of our time. This includes mastering equipment and processes as well as critically analyzing images and their specific production methods.
The question of what is an original or a copy and who decides has become one of the central issues of our time. Art has long been involved in this discussion - and printmaking offers particularly valuable approaches to sharpening our view of the bewildering variety of new images.
With the fresh works of the students, DAS EDITH invites us to take a generous look back at the history of images, while at the same time daring to take a visionary look at the images of the future with the means of the present.

13 students from 3 studios are taking part in this year's edition.
The prints have the format 42 x 30 cm and are each produced in an edition of 20 copies. The printing techniques used include wood cut, intaglio, lithography, digital printing, screen printing and lithography.
HOW AND WHERE TO GET EDITH!
The prints will be presented and on sale as part of the Rundgang from January 16th – 19th, 2025 at our studios at Schillerplatz 3, 1010 Wien
From January 16th - March 2025, they will also be available on the website www.dasedith.at in the online store.
It is possible to purchase vouchers for prints. This promotion is valid from December 11th - 23rd, 2024, so you can give the gift of art and leave the choice of artwork up to the recipient! The vouchers can be redeemed from January 8th, one week before the Rundgang.
All works by the 13 participating students can be purchased in a collective portfolio, limited to 13 pieces. We are happy to accept reservations for these portfolios by email during the entire project period.

Single sheets: 95,- Euro
Vouchers: 95,- Euro (digital for printing)
Collection folder: 950,- Euro (reservations possible)
The proceeds go directly to the respective artist after deduction of production costs.
