About us

Since 2004, the Alumni Association has provided all graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with a platform for personal exchange and the opportunity to stay connected with the Academy beyond their studies. Our goal is to strengthen the relationship between the Academy and its graduates, foster exchange between faculty, students, and alumni, and promote networking among graduates.

___Activities___

The Alumni Association regularly organizes events and training opportunities, such as practical workshops, lectures, and roundtables tailored to the interests of graduates, supporting their professional and artistic development:

Each semester, in cooperation with IG Bildende Kunst, the Alumni Association hosts the Survival Training for Artists series, which covers legal and tax-related issues. The discussion series Market in Place examines current developments in the art market with experts. Additionally, our Toolkit series offers hands-on workshops, while Forum.Alumni provides a feedback round for questions related to planning, production, budgeting, and presenting (art) projects and addressing current challenges in the project process.

We are happy to involve Academy graduates in our programs, for example, as contributors to specific events – we look forward to your active participation!

___Newsletter___

The Alumni Association regularly informs its members about current events, training opportunities, as well as relevant events at the Academy for graduates. Additionally, you will receive notifications about internal and external calls for applications, awards, job offers, and available studio spaces.

If you have offers for studio spaces or relevant job opportunities, feel free to send them to us. However, we reserve the right not to distribute all submissions.

___Stay Connected!___

As an association member, you benefit from regular information services, access to training opportunities, and participation in teaching and research programs. Of course, you will also be invited to the general assembly.

Registration for free membership can be completed online or by mail. Cancellation of membership is possible at any time.

If you do not wish to become a member but would still like to stay informed about alumni activities, we invite you to subscribe to the Academy’s free newsletter.

Upon graduation, alumni are automatically added to the mailing list. If you do not receive the newsletter, please email alumni@akbild.ac.at.
