Fabian Knierim has been curator at WestLicht. Schauplatz für Fotografie since 2013. After placements at the photographic collections of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden, the Münchner Stadtmuseum, and the Museum Folkwang in Essen, supported by a scholarship from the Krupp Foundation, he served as Assistant Curator of Photographs at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, in 2012. In 2017, he was a member of the curatorial collective of the first Biennale für aktuelle Fotografie, titled Farewell Photography, held in Mannheim, Ludwigshafen, and Heidelberg. He studied art history, literature, and sociology in Bochum.
