Ruth Sonderegger receives funding for research project from the Volkswagen Foundation

In the first round of calls for proposals for the funding initiative "Aufbruch - Neue Forschungsräume für die Geistes- und Kulturwissenschaften," the Board of Trustees of the Volkswagen Foundation approved nine projects out of 196 applications received, with total funding of 2.6 million euros.

Prof. Dr. Ruth Sonderegger from the Institute for Art and Cultural Studies receives the grant for her project Wahrnehmen, Rechtsprechen und Verwerten in der kolonialen Moderne: Zum Nexus von ursprünglicher Akkumulation, race und westlicher Ästhetik.
