Alfredo Barsuglia is mentor of Patrick Winkler.
Alfredo Barsuglia, * in 1980 in Graz, lives and works in Vienna, where he completed his studies at the University of Applied Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts in 2003. His artistic work is characterized by a multidisciplinary approach and the combination of various forms of expression, media, and techniques. In his works, Barsuglia explores the complex relationship between art and society. He consistently seeks to challenge expectations and counteract situations in order to provoke discourse on seemingly trivial and everyday matters. For him, art and communication are closely intertwined.
Barsuglia has received numerous awards and grants, including the Monsignor Otto Mauer Prize (2019), the State Scholarship for Fine Arts (2017), the City of Vienna’s Art Promotion Prize (2015), the Theodor Körner Prize (2013), the City of Graz’s Art Promotion Prize (2007), and the MAK-Schindler Scholarship in Los Angeles (2006).
