Eva Bayalan is mentee of Doris Uhlich.

Eva Balayan, * 1991 in Yerevan/Armenia, lives and works as a media artist in Vienna. After fleeing to Austria in 2006, she continued her education, studying Transcultural Communication at the Karl-Franzens-University Graz and later Graphic and Communication Design at the Ortwein School of Graz. In 2017, she began studying Digital Arts at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, completing her degree in 2023 with a thesis on the erasure and appropriation of cultural identities in conflict zones. During an Erasmus stay in 2021, she deepened her illustration skills at the University of the Arts Berlin.

Parallel to her studies, Eva Balayan worked as a freelance graphic designer, illustrator, and mural artist. In her artistic practice, she combines digital media such as animation, AI, AR, and 3D with performance, ceramics, textiles, and painting. Her work explores themes of tradition and heritage in the context of self-perception, showcasing her profound interest in identity and communication in both digital and physical spaces.

Her works have been featured in exhibitions in Vienna, Vilnius, Aveiro, Berlin, and Los Angeles.
