Lukas Meschik reads three-liners from his new poetry collection Form wahren [Preserve Form] and unpublished short prose. Peter Waldeck presents his latest novel All der wilde Unfug [All that Wild Mischief].
The Literaturhaus Wien [Vienna House of Literature] about Form wahren [Preserve Form]:
“Breathing new life into the three-liner: Lukas Meschik's latest volume Form wahren oscillates between haiku and headline trash, between bon mot and short essay. Reading for minutes—or hours.” (Marcus Neuert, 04.02.2025)
The Falter on All der wilde Unfug [All that Wild Mischief]:
“There is an author in Vienna who has read his Michel Houellebecq and Bret Easton Ellis, but doesn't leave it at mere imitation. Peter Waldeck is their local brother in spirit: a great stylist, but he doesn't have to show it on every page because he also gives free rein to his penchant for trash. In the finale of his latest novel, All der wilde Unfug, this is reflected in a memorable car chase. Only people who have grown up with films like Fantomas on television can write like this. The unreliable narrator Viktor is a former theater enfant-terrible with a penchant for booze and stupid pranks. One of these causes him to fall from grace. Waldeck's novel is far from being just a literary joke. Again and again, a deep melancholy breaks through that is touching.” (Sebastian Fasthuber, 20.12.2024)
