Artist using glass as a medium
Vortrag von Scott Chaseling, Melbourne/Berlin, organisiert vom Institut für Kunst und Architektur
Scott Chaseling's brilliantly colored glass vessels are brought to life by narrative stories, which are depicted in paintings on the interior and exterior surfaces. The paintings of everyday scenes, captured in bright expressionistic colors, are reflective of the subtle views of Chaseling's intimate encounters. The inner glimpse of Chaseling's psyche is further enhanced by interior images, which offer completely different scenes to the viewer. Each of the narrative paintings are encased by vivid patterns, which wrap around the forms. His patterns reflect a post-modernist sensibility imbued with the garish bright colored images of the 60's psychedelic period. Chaseling's work is included in major collections such as the National Gallery of Australia, the Museum of American Glass in New Jersey USA and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa Japan.
