    In its 10th edition, the Kunsthalle Wien Prize represents the ongoing collaboration between Kunsthalle Wien, the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University of Applied Arts Vienna.

  • Opening: Rouven Dürr – Quader

    Opening of an exhibition on the significance of sculpture between geometric form and the primacy of experience as part of the Academy Library‘s Wer A.. sagt series.

    The color photograph shows four concrete sculptures in different shades of grey by Rouven Dürr, each composed of two to three cuboids. They stand on a simple table consisting of a wooden top and trestles. The studio wall in the background shows splashes of paint, the word “schauen” [look] written in delicate capitals is recognizable.

  • Wild Apollo’s Arrows. Klopstock Cult & Ossian Fever

    This exhibition presents significant artistic works that exemplify this epochal shift from the Enlightenment to the irrationalism of the Storm and Stress movement and Romanticism. For the first time, the immense influence of the poet Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock on the fine arts and music of his own age is explored.

  • Considering the Collection

  • "Weisser Fleck" - an artistic research project

    Weißer Fleck (Blind Spot) is an innovative artistic research project that is now on display on the façade of a Gemeindebau in Heiligenstadt, Vienna. This project is a long term collaborative effort (since 2021) between the Insitute for Art and Architecture, the Institute of Natural Sciences and Technology in the Arts and The Dusts Institute.
    It represents an intersection of artistic research, architecture, and geomicrobiology. The project was supported by KÖR and is an integral part of the research at Academy under the title 'Epidermitecture'.

  • PARCOURS. FINAL WORKS 2025

    This year's exhibition of the Final Works of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna runs as a parcours through different locations of the university. It shows final works of the most diverse fields of study and departments, which offer a unique insight into the range of artistic forms of expression and productions at the Academy.
