Hofstetter Kurt: On the event horizon of a new art form
Guest lecture as part of the course Textile Design Processes and Printing Techniques by Ulli Nöbauer.
Seduced by philosophical mathematics thinking in infinities, Hofstetter Kurt (conceptual and media artist, composer) discovers event horizons where he succeeds in using artistic transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary experimentation to bend, deflect, undermine and expand the existing in order to create a new art form.
For example, his first aperiodic fabric structure in the 30,000-year-old periodically conceived weaving culture leads to the new art form of ‘Ambient Tactile Art’. In music, it is his supersymmetrical composition method that initialises ‘irrational music’. And then there is ‘Ambient Media Art’, which transfers the traditional panel painting into new dimensions.
