ATARRABI ET MIKELATS
Guest lecture by French filmmaker Eugène Gree. Studio for Art and Film.
Followed by public film screening. Free admission.
ATARRABI AND MIKELATS is a basque myth telling the ancient struggle of good and evil, light and darkness embodied by two brothers whose mother, the goddess Mari, leaves them for education at the devil‘s daycare. Eugène Green‘s mise-en-scene picks up where Bresson left off and combines the purely cinematographic with radically contemporary images as if the past 30 years hadn‘t existed.
Followed by a discussion with Eugène Green
