Flora Franke begins the installation and performance "Anschwemmte Inseln" (Alluvial Islands); she will place small, ephemeral objects made of papier-mâché and grass seeds, and bury others.
The project "Invisible Waters and Hidden Path" was developed by students and teachers Saskia T. Nicklin and Michael Höpfner from the Studio for Art and Time | Photography, at the suggestion of and in collaboration with the Vienna Art Academy (KÖR), and was actively supervised by the artists Caterina Gobbi (Italy), Esraa Elfeky (Egypt), and Hamish Fulkton (UK). Workshops and city walks explored nature, including water in urban spaces, as well as historical museum research.
The green strip surrounding the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna will be used and further developed monthly by students from the studio as a public exhibition space from April 2025 to April 2026.
We would like to thank KÖR Wien, Cornelia Offergeld and Olga Wukounig for their support, without which this work with the students within the university teaching would not have been possible.
