Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Fine Arts 2024 - Sunggu Hong nominated

Together with the Austrian art universities, Ö1 was again looking for talented young artists in 2024. The scholarship of 10,000 Euros is being awarded for the 17th time with the support of the Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein. Students studying at one of the following five art universities in Austria were eligible to apply: Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, University of Applied Arts Vienna, University of Art Linz, University of Art Graz and Mozarteum University Salzburg. The exhibition Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Fine Arts 2024 in the Künstlerhaus shows the four artists nominated by an expert jury: Sunggu (Seonghyun) Hong, Ida Kammerloch, Michaela Kessler and Valentino Skarwan.

Sunggu Hong, born in 1993 in Seoul, Korea, lives and works in Vienna.
He studies performative art at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Sunggu Hong's artistic work deals with connections between human relationships and elements, observations of influences and dependencies, and the resulting changes. Sunggu Hong is one of four shortlisted candidates for the Ö1 Talent Scholarship for Fine Arts 2024. The award ceremony for the talent scholarship will take place on November 14 at the Künstlerhaus in Vienna. The works of the shortlisted candidates will be exhibited there until December 2, 2024.
