Zukünfte-Laboratorium visits the Academy
On February 21, 2025, the second edition of the Zukünfte-Laboratorium on the topic of inclusion took place at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
This event was organized and carried out by Petra Schön (Lillis Ballroom and Dancing without Borders), Philipp Bellos, Wolfgang Dangl, Mario* Sinnhofer, Anja Kogelnig (Bunte Begegnungen), Flora Reitmayer, Christin Figl (Literatur-Bootschaft/ Ohrenschmaus) and Anna Pritz from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
Anna Pritz is an employee at the Institute for Education in the Arts in the field of study Pedagogy, Arts and Cultur, where she leads a course on inclusion in school lessons. As part of a university course at the Bertha von Suttner Private University, she successfully connected and networked with other participants. As a result, around 30 people from various organizations that work with and for people with disabilities, and those affected themselves, met in the inclusive dance studio Lillis Ballroom in June 2024. The aim was to stay in touch and not only discuss the idea of inclusion, but also to live it. At the second meeting in February of this year in the Studio Building, around 50 people attended, including several colleagues from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.
With various opportunities for exchange and research, ideas, people and initiatives were linked together in a cozy atmosphere. "Our goal is to create and develop spaces of inclusion under all conditions. We believe that sensory and artistic experience spaces can support us in this. In view of the complex challenges we face, it is necessary to act from a far-reaching perspective. That is why we wanted to create a space for visionary thinking and enable collaboration on this day, which we designed as a creative laboratory," says Anna Pritz.
The teaching of inclusion at the Institute for Education in the Arts will also be offered this summer semester, and the group that is forming the laboratory will continue to exist both unofficially and officially.
