Theaterquarantäne | Sprungturmfestival
The Sprungturmfestival is an interdisciplinary and international festival or performing and visual arts in Darmstadt, which can already look back on five successful editions in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2021. Our mission is to create a festival that fosters new connections between art forms and creates a platform for a shared experience for artists and visitors. The Leap Tower Festival stands for a collaborative, diverse and sensory experience of art and pushes for a sustainable use of resources, as well as broader accessibility to the performing and visual arts for all.
To this end, the Sprungturm Festival brings a variety of innovative, young and diverse artistic positions to Darmstadt. The programme focuses on the performing arts, especially works from the fields of theatre, dance and performance.
This year’s motto is:
Rolling Dice
For the sixth time already, the dice are rolled, start rolling and present us with new facts and challenges. What developments are we subject to? When do we have to adapt and where can we move and change society? We want to surrender to change, new forms in the performing and visual arts that show new perspectives, express courage for change and think along with the current discourses.
In this edition, we would especially like to invite artists who are still studying or have recently graduated, as well as groups that have newly formed. We would like to offer them space to experiment and to network - with each other as well as with a professional audience from beyond the region. We prefer to invite plays that do not require any knowledge of cultural history.
We are now looking for artists from the following disciplines: Theatre - Contemporary Dance - Performance Art - Fine Arts (painting, sculpture, projection) - Architecture (experimental constructions)
Both finished works, as well as works created on site can be presented at the festival. In case of any questions, feel free to contact us directly.

FINANCES: A professional fee will be paid. We will also bear the following costs: traveling - board and lodging - material costs in beforehand consultation
