Abstract
In The Song Is Etched in Your Body: Listening for Unnamed Frequencies, I try to articulate the social and artistic processes developed from my recent projects Hazzeh (2019), Borom (2020), and fuengu (2021) by integrating multiple forms of writing including essay, diary, travelogue, listening score, and conversation. This dissertation anchors its inquiry firmly in the question of listening and the politics embedded in its perceptive corporeality. It chronicles the research trajectory that I embarked over the course of three years across Jordan and Palestine, Jeju Island (South Korea), and Psoseongana (Alishan, Taiwan), and how each project respectively unfolds in its specific historical geo-political context.
