Love and Intimacy in Light of Debates on Polyamory and Feminist Critique of Monogamy
Lecture by Christian Klesse in the context of Gender Studies I/Doris Guth.
The lecture provides a brief introduction to polyamory as a particular type of consensual non-monogamy and elaborates on some of the particularities of what might be called a polyamorous understanding of love. The second part of the lecture will focus on some of the debates on polyamory in light of feminist and queer-feminist theories.
Dr. Christian Klesse is a Reader in the Department of Sociology at Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. He conducts interdisciplinary research on intimacy, gender and sexuality, LGBTQIA+, non-monogamy and polyamory, social movements, transnationalism, migration, and racism.
