Exhibition Manager in the Department of Contemporary Exhibitions
This position is offered for 35 hours per week, starting at the earliest possible date.
Under the umbrella term Exhibit, the Academy's exhibition department aims to provide teaching staff, students, and alumni with various exhibition practices in its spaces and to enable reflection on exhibiting as a medium. With its program in three exhibition spaces, the exhibition department of the Academy strives to operate at the interface of academic teaching and exhibition practice, as well as the historical art collections. At the same time, it presents the Academy’s contemporary production of knowledge and art to the general public.
Areas of responsibility
- development of programmatic concepts for contemporary exhibition practices together with the Vice Rectorate for Art | Teaching
- coordination of all exhibitions and exhibition-related projects (including responsibility for calls for submissions, contracts, and printed matter) regarding timing (annual planning), budget, and personnel
- budget preparation and budget control for all exhibitions, including printed matter
- organization and implementation of exhibition projects in collaboration with the department's team
- curatorial work
- coordination of the exhibition department’s staff and student staff (art information service)
- acquisition of cooperations and managing relationships with cooperation partners
- acquisition of funding and managing relationships with funding bodies
- interface with teaching (holding workshops, organizing lecture programs, etc.)
- interface with the Academy’s Art Collections as well as coordination with the public relations office
Conditions of employment
- University or University of Applied Sciences degree (diploma or master's degree) that qualifies for this position
- several years of experience in project and exhibition management, preferably in the field of art and culture
- excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
- excellent MS Office skills and social media affinity
- strong writing skills

The monthly gross salary according to the collective agreement for university employees in salary group IVa is currently Euro 2.617,1 for 35 hours per week.
