Call Füger Prize 2021/22

Founded in 1819 in memory of Heinrich Friedrich Füger, professor and later director of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (1751-1818), this prize is awarded every year to students by the prize jury. The jury is composed of representatives from all fields of study (nominated by the heads of the institutes) as well as two external members (nominated by the Senate). This prize is intended to honour Füger's great commitment to giving drawing a central role in artistic education.

Conditions of tender

• Students of all artistic fields of study are entitled to submit works.
• Without exception, the works must be hand drawings and must not exceed the format 1m x 1m.
• Notes: Only one work per participant - no cyclical works; painterly works on paper are also not permitted.
• If sketchbooks are submitted, it must be clear which page (left or right) is meant.

Deadlines

• Applicants must register at the administrative offices of the particular institute.
• The exact deadline for registration will be posted at the institutes.
• A list of these participants must be submitted by the offices of the institutes to the Registrar's office by Monday, 13th of June 2022 at the latest.

Submission of work

• Thursday, the 15th of June 2022, between 09:00 and 11:00 a.m. (according to the list of participants)
• Mehrzwecksaal/Atelierhaus - 1060 Wien, Léhargasse 6 - to Mag. Franz Wibmer
• No work can be handed in later.

The submitted drawing must be marked with the name on the back. The student ID card must be shown when submitting the work. The drawings must be collected from the Mehrzwecksaal/Atelierhaus after the jury meeting on Wednesday, 15th of June 2022, between 02:00 and 03:00 a.m. The identity card must also be taken back with you.
The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna does not assume any liability for the submitted works.
