Katharina Brandl | Head of Visual Arts Pro Helvetia

Katharina Brandl is a curator, lecturer and author in the field of contemporary art. She heads the Visual Arts Department at the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia. From 2019 to 2022, she was artistic director of Kunstraum Niederösterreich in Vienna and was a research assistant and lecturer at the Art History Department of the University of Basel from 2016 to 2022. She studied Political Science and Art History at the University of Vienna and Critical Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Previously, she worked in the field of research funding, as a research assistant and in cultural management. She founded different cultural initiatives in Vienna and Basel, where she also lives and works.
