Astrid Wagner in conversation with Christian Kravagna (Professor of Postcolonial Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, curator of Kunstraum Lakeside, Klagenfurt, Carinthia (with Hedwig Saxenhuber), and author, Vienna) and Sören Grammel
As in her research on Anton Schweighofer’s “Stadt des Kindes” (Child City) and its architecture, Astrid Wagner’s work focuses on the complex contexts between building forms, the use of certain materials in public space, and the social and didactic programs connected with it. Her multipartite and manifold collages also question which politics and politics of identity present-day visual media spaces imply. (SG)
