The present concept "Sludge pour Sludge - Or how I learned to be an algorithm" is part of an international art festival in Athens/Greece and includes a curated group exhibition as a festival contribution with an Austrian focus for the Back to Athens Festival in Athens (June 26 - June 30, 2024). In addition to the exhibition itself, the concept sees itself as a mediation and exchange space for hybrid keynotes, artist talks and workshops during the festival.

For the submitting association Kunst im Keller, Johannes Rips (Academy of Fine Arts Vienna) curates selected young Austrian artists who have been invited to engage with current developments in posthumanist strategies and subjectification processes.

Back to Athens 11 - Crossroads is this year's edition of the international art meeting. Once a year, the Back to Athens Festival brings together the city's artistic community in a cultural event that includes visual art and new media installations, sculptures, paintings, photography and videos, interventions, visual, theatrical and acoustic performances, short films, lectures, film screenings, discussions, workshops and guided tours. Back to Athens is a platform where ideas are developed and implemented, but more importantly, it is a meeting place in the heart of the city for artists and the international art community.
