Call for Applications | International Summer School ISA Science 2017
The University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna invites PhD-candidates from the humanities, social sciences and cultural studies to participate in a transdisciplinary one-day Session specially designed for international researchers currently working on their PhD-theses.
The event is part of the International Summer School ISA Science 2017 dedicated to the overall topic Motion – Emotion – Movement. The venue of the event is located in the region of Semmering, Lower Austria (10 to 14 August, 2017).
The PhD-Day on 11 August 2017 is intended to give the participants the opportunity to present papers confronting their respective research with the overall theme of ISA Science and to provide an inspiring and challenging forum for cross-disciplinary academic exchange in the unique context of ISA. The session will be chaired by Prof. Ursula Hemetek and Prof. Cornelia-Szabo Knotik of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Participants are encouraged to participate in the entire programme of ISA Science 2017 with an array of lectures, debates, film presentations etc. combining various methodological and disciplinary approaches to the overall subject.
Candidates are invited to submit an abstract of 300 words max. and a short CV including information about their PhD-project until 31 March, 2017 to isa-science-phdday@mdw.ac.at Applications will be notified about their participation before the end of April 2017.
Please note that the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna offers a limited number of grants for travel and accommodation for the entire time of ISA-Science, which can be applied for upon being accepted to the PhD-Session.
