The Austrian Cultural Forum London in cooperation with the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the Central Saint Martins London presents Disagreements as Domains of Nausea and Elation, an exhibition featuring the work of twelve early-career artists who work across installation, performance, painting, sculpture, sound and new media.

What are the ways today in which we can foster a greater resilience to better withstand as well as understand external shocks and internal crises? Disagreements operates as an excerpt of the current times experienced by artists whose works create unease, include grave affects, or reinduce the poetics and politics of the everyday life.
Involved artists from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna: Jakob Braito (Sculpture and Spatial Strategies), Lucia Kagramanyan (Master in Critical Studies), Julia Karpov (Sculpture and Installation), Rosa Knecht (Performative Art), Fritjof Krabbe Nørretranders (Sculpture and Installation) and Lera Weinrub (Sculpture and Installation) together with the London based artists Tom Bull, Emma Aldjia Belabed (with Magnus Westwell and George Harvey), Robyn McKenzie, Josh Woolford, Emmanuel Shogbolu (Scattsman) and Tiffany Wellington.

The show will be accompanied by a publication, designed by Marta Úrbez, featuring essays and a documentation of the exhibition. An online platform will also connect the exhibition to a broader international audience, further opening up the artistic processes of the participating artists.

The exhibition Disagreements as Domains of Nausea and Elation, curated by Nimco Kulmiye Hussein, is part of our Curatorial-in-Residence Programme in partnership with Austrian Cultural Forum London and Central Saint Martins - University of Arts London. Graduates from the Culture, Criticism and Curation Master travel to Vienna and choose graduates from the Academy to present alongside UK-based artists at an exhibition at the ACF London. This project was initiated in 2015 and brought dozens of London and Vienna based artists together with young curators.
