Anna Carina Roth (Bmkös)
Anna Carina Roth is mentee of Rainer Iglar
Anna Carina Roth (*1993 in Oberwart, Burgenland) completed her studies in artistic photography at the School Friedl Kubelka, fine arts and photography at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, and journalism and communication studies at the University of Vienna.
In her installation works she focuses on light-sensitive material by means of a processual way of working in connection with the body and language. She sees the transmedial translation and creation of “lens-based sculptures” inspired by the poetry and metaphors of photography as an expanded exploration of the photographic medium in transition. Intimacy, as well as identity and the passage of time, play an essential role.
Her work has been shown most recently at Foto Wien, Parallel Editions, and the Landesgalerie Burgenland. Among other awards, she received the working scholarship of the Province of Burgenland (2021) and was artist in residence in Paliano, Italy (2018).
