Fiona Liewehr is mentor to Nicoleta Auersperg
Fiona Liewehr is an art historian, curator, writer, and editor based in Vienna. She studied art history and economics at the Universities of Vienna, Salzburg, and Hamburg. She has worked as an assistant curator at the Österreichische Galerie Belvedere and head of marketing and communication at mumok - Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig, Wien. Until 2018 she was Director of Georg Kargl Fine Arts and BOX. Since then she has been an independent exhibition organizer. In her curatorial practise she is interested in the crossover of media and disciplines, the phenomenology of perception, and new and expanded forms of spatial existence and conceptions as the result of social relations. She is also interested in ecological and socio-political issues. Her projects in recent years include solo exhibitions of Barbara Hammer; Richard Artschwager; Andreas Fogarasi; Carol Bove; Bernhard Leitner; David Maljkovic or Gerard Byrne and group exhibitions such as The other is oneself; This is happening Iⅈ [scene missing]; Cinematic Scope; Feedbackstage or Texte in der Kunst. Liewehr is the editor of numerous publications and regularly contributes essays and texts to catalogues and art magazines.
