Anna Dian

Anna Dian, born in 1993 in Graz, studied Philosophy and Art History at Karl Franzens University Graz and Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in the department of Art and Time | Photography, where she completed her studies in 2024. Since 2015, her artistic activities have included various exhibitions, festival participations, and performance projects both nationally and internationally, as well as numerous collaborative projects with other artists from Vienna’s art and performance scene.

In her transdisciplinary practice, she combines drawing, video, performance, painting, installation, text, and sound. In this open creative field, she addresses themes revolving around the body, space, and identity, as well as the personal and collective relationship between people and their environment — both natural spaces and collective, urban locations. She explores possibilities for shaping these relationships and spaces, addressing questions of contemporary co-existence and seeking ways to rethink and live artistic practice as an attempt at a multifaceted, utopian-symbiotic interaction with other living beings and the surrounding spaces.
