An introductory workshop by Cornelia Offergeld, Artistic Director of KÖR Kunst im öffentlichen Raum Wien.

This lecture will explore possibilities for the realization of art projects in public spaces through concrete case studies. The various stages will be discussed, from concept development to production and execution, including logistical, technical, and financial challenges that often arise in public art projects. Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask individual questions.

KÖR Kunst im öffentlichen Raum Wien (Art in Public Space Vienna) plans, facilitates, and promotes both permanent and temporary artistic projects in the public spaces of Vienna. Since 2024, the organization has been operating under the umbrella of Stadt Wien Kunst GmbH. KÖR organizes competitions and implements projects, supports project submissions, collaborates with institutions, and develops educational programs. Its areas of activity include public art and construction projects for residential buildings, subway stations, train stations, and public squares, as well as temporary individual projects, thematic series, and works in the field of memory culture. A five-member jury, which changes every three years and consists of artists, curators, and architects, nominates artists for competitions or temporary individual commissions and evaluates submissions.

An event organized by the Alumni Association of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna.

The lecture will be held in German, with questions also welcome in English.
