Elisa Bergmann
Elisa Bergmann is mentee of Hugo Canoilas.
In her artistic practice, Elisa Bergmann focuses on painting and the continuous questioning of the medium and its tools. Considerations regarding the conditions of artistic production, particularly the coexistence of artistic practice and care work, play a central role, as do themes of scalability. These aspects are reflected in her choice of motifs, techniques, and materials, as well as in her spatial and installation-based translations. Bergmann also incorporates elements of a semi-fictional language in her work – partly descriptive, abstract, and fictional, yet always referencing private life and the surrounding environment.
Her works have been exhibited at venues including Avlskarl Gallery, Copenhagen; Kunstraum Schwaz; KünstlerhausVereinigung, Vienna; wasserwasser, Vienna; Galerie 5020, Salzburg; Exhibit Studio, Vienna; Kunsthalle Bozen; Plan-Raum für Kunst, Hamburg; and Galerie Prisma, Bozen.
