Minda Andrén, * 1990 in Sweden, dedicates herself to exploringintimacy, desire, well-being, and the relationship between the body and itsenvironment through her narrative and abstract portraits. In doing so, she investigates alternative representations of the self in painting. Her work questions the role painted images can play in the context of technological and ecological change and how they influence our perception of self and identity.
Her work has been shown internationally in institutions such as Belvedere 21, Kunstverein Kärnten and Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney (Australia). They also have been featured in galleries including Zeller van Almsick (Vienna), Setareh (Berlin), Gallery Bon (Stockholm), as well as in artist run spaces across Europe and Australia.
Andrén is represented by Gallery Zeller van Almsick. Her works are part of the collection of the Swedish National Council for the Arts and the BMKÖS Arthotek.
