Henri Lefebvre and urban revolution
The book La Révolution Urbaine released in 1970 in the original french version is one of the major works of French sociologist Henri Lefebvre on the urban society. On the occasion of the release of a new German edition Klaus Ronneberger analyzes the meaning of this classical oeuvre for critical urbanism today. The increasing interest in Lefebvre´s writings on urban theory is closely connected to the »spatial turn« and the increasing demand for „right to the city“ by activist groups.
Klaus Ronneberger studied cultural theory, european ethnology, sociology and political sciences. Ronneberger currently works independently as a writer, he worked for the Institute for Social Research in Frankfurt am Main for many years.
