The Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna is currently accepting applications for the following position:

University professor
of fine arts with a focus on spatial strategies and sculpture at the Institute of Fine Arts according to § 98 UG 2002 of the Universities Act 2002 (Universitätsgesetz 2002). The duration of this professorship is 6 years, from October 1, 2019, to September 30, 2025.

Application requirements:
•    A degree in the field or an artistic qualification that may be considered equivalent
•    Excellent academic qualifications and artistic practice in spatial strategies and sculpture, with a work concept that formally and methodically reflects its content. In the context of an interdisciplinary approach to art, the candidate should be capable of considering the interfaces with other fields, disciplines and media.
•    Proof of international exhibition activity
•    Ability to develop the arts within the framework of the Academy
•    Proof of pedagogic and didactic qualification as well as a written statement (max. 5 pages) presenting the candidate’s approach to artistic teaching including consideration of gender issues and intercultural content and practices
•    Competence to manage a department
•    The willingness to collaborate with the staff of the department and the Institute of Fine Arts as well as the other institutes at the academy
•    Willingness to participate in university committees
•    Willingness to have a permanent residence in Vienna
•    Excellent English language skills
•    Excellent German language skills or the willingness to learn German by the beginning of the 2022/2023 academic year
•    Gender competence with regard to recognizing relevant gender aspects and working toward the goal of gender equality
•    Intercultural competence

The monthly gross pay according to the collective bargaining agreement for employees of universities in pay group A1, is currently Euro 5,005.10. Salary may be increased per the candidate’s qualifications.
